Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before joining us at Midwinter.
When and where is Midwinter?
Midwinter takes place on Saturday, February 6, 2027, in Calgary, Alberta. Doors open at 7:30 PM, with early admission for Patron ticket holders at 7:00 PM. The evening concludes at 11:00 PM. Location details will be posted shortly.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Midwinter is an 18+ event. All guests must be at least 18 years old and may be asked to provide valid government-issued photo identification.
Do I have to wear a costume?
Not at all! Fantasy-inspired clothing, elaborate costumes, and formal attire are encouraged, but not required. Come dressed in whatever makes you feel part of the occasion.
We simply ask that costumes allow for safe movement and don't obstruct walkways or other guests.
Can I bring a sword or other costume weapon?
No. Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited, including costume and replica weapons made from foam, plastic, wood, or metal.
This includes swords, daggers, axes, firearms, bows, arrows, and weapon-like staffs.
Guests arriving with prohibited items will be asked to remove them before entering. Failure to comply may result in denied entry without a refund, where permitted by law.
Will food and drinks be available?
Yes! Food and beverages will be available throughout the evening, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
Please note that an allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend?
Tickets are non-refundable, except where required by law. However, you may transfer your ticket to another eligible guest by contacting us in advance.
What happens if Midwinter is cancelled or postponed?
Red Thread Experiences reserves the right to cancel Midwinter at any time.
If we cancel, all ticket holders will receive a full refund, including applicable ticketing fees.
If the event is postponed, you'll have the option to attend the rescheduled date or request a full refund.
Additional expenses, such as travel, accommodation, or costumes, are not covered.
Will there be photography and video?
Yes! Photographers and videographers will be capturing the magic of Midwinter throughout the evening.
By purchasing a ticket and attending, guests consent to being photographed or recorded and to the use of their image or likeness in Red Thread Experiences' promotional materials, including websites, social media, and future event advertising, without compensation, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Can the entertainment or schedule change?
Yes. While we're planning a wonderful evening, performers, activities, menus, and schedules may change as needed.
Are there any rules about behaviour?
We want Midwinter to be a welcoming place where everyone can relax, have fun, and express themselves.
We will not tolerate harassment, discrimination, aggressive behaviour, or unwanted physical contact. Guests must follow reasonable directions from event staff and security.
Anyone engaging in unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may be removed without a refund.
What if I lose something at the event?
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings. Red Thread Experiences is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
